Climb Mount Elbrus
Climb Mount Elbrus – August 2019
The Mount Elbrus Challenge is an exhilarating 12 day adventure, to one of the Seven Summits. We fly out as a team to Mineralnye Vody airport via Moscow, ready for the climb of a lifetime in the small town of Kislovodsk. The challenge will lead me on a 9 day climb to the top of this inactive volcano and in doing so will push us to our physical limits while offering us stunning views across the glaciers and crevasses of the lower Caucasus range. I transfer to the Elbrus lower camp (2,200m) where we base ourselves for three nights while progressively climbing higher each day on acclimatisation treks and spending time practising our crampon, rope and ice axe techniques. Having attempted to summit the highest mountain in Europe (5,642m) and having experienced the breathtaking vistas that the region has to offer, I descend back to the town of Kislovodsk where we can enjoy a great celebratory meal!
The quest to the summit of Mount Elbrus is a tough one and will begin as soon you register. Nothing but hard work and determination will get you to the summit and the training and preparation required should not be underestimated. Mt Elbrus is one of the toughest challenges that we currently offer and as much as it is a very achievable challenge it is one that should not be taken lightly. We will provide you with all the support you need along the way and upon registering you will receive access to your trip App, which includes your itinerary, kit lists, training guides and our detailed challenge manual.
